Ran into these guys on my trek to the progam site. They're called evzones, an elite ceremonial guard that keep vigil at the Tomb of the Unknown Solider and Hellenistic Parliament. They perform these very broad, elaborate routines where they kick their legs up as a way to keep up their strength and fitness while on duty.

View from one of the two apartment balconies. Athens can also look quite rugged in some parts. Love waking up this rustic skyline every day though.
View from the other balcony in my apartment. The sidestreets and rising stacks give Athens a more urban feel. Navigating the alleyways and back routes is second nature to most Athenians.
